Raise Money for a Food Bank with Origami

Have a party and have each child bring a can of food. This is a great way to help the food bank fill their shelves. There are a couple of ways you can do this. You can hold it at a location where children are already at, such as the Boy?s and Girl?s Club or a daycare.

The supplies are inexpensive and these places may already have some of them since they have kids at their location on a daily basis. Then to take part in this activity all they have to do is bring a can of food.

Help Brighten the Halls of a Retirement Home with Origami

Retirement homes are always looking for ways to decorate their halls to keep their residents smiling. One way to do this is to ask kids to create projects that the retirement home can put on their walls. These can be stars, flowers, quilts, or masks to name a few. The residents and family members will enjoy seeing them and the kids will have fun making them.

You can do many different things with origami and your community. Look at what you have or what you can do and work origami into it. You can even use these same ideas to decorate the halls in your school or church.
